KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 16.86 g, 12 h), Kos, circa 205-190. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, club hold by crab above monogram. Price 2504. SNG Keckman 295. Stefanaki 1659. A very rare issue with an interesting reverse symbol. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
